YET WILL I TRUST HIM

Recently I have felt a burden to pray for my family and friends for Faith to Trust the Lord even in the midst of Trials and Suffering.  So many days we are so focused on just making it through the day. I do not think the Lord wants us to be facing each day thinking, "How can I survive this".  He wants us to face each day, no matter what we will experience with faith, hope, and peace that it is all in His hands.
In all things we should praise Him.

An excerpt from the book Beside Still Waters by C.H. Spurgeon

Yet Will I Trust Him (Job 13:15)

A Child of God is not expected to be Stoic, for God's grace takes away from the heart of stone.   When we endure trials, we feel the pain.  Do not ask to be made hard and callous, for this is not how grace works.  Grace makes us strong to bear trials, but we still have to bear them.  Grace gives us patience and submission, not stoicism.  We feel, and we benefit by the feeling.  There are some who will not cry when God chastens, and thee are some who will not yield when God strikes.  Do not be like them!  Be content to have Job's suffering heart (Job1:21)  Feel the bitter spirit and he anguish of soul which racked the blessed patriarch.
My dear friend, when grief presses you to the dust, worship there!  Remember David's words, "Pour out your heart."  But do not stop there; finish the quotation.  "Pour out your heart before him."  Turn your heart upside down, empty it, and let every drop run out.  "Pour out your heart before Him, God is a refuge for us." (Ps. 62:8).
When you are bowed down beneath a heavy burden of sorrow, worship and adore God there.  In full surrender to to His divine will, say with Job, "Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him." (Job 13:15).  This kind of worship subdues the will, arouses the affections, stirs the whole mind, and presents you to God in solemn consecration.  This worship sweetens sorrow and takes away it's sting.

Thankful

Today... I am happy and thankful.  I am feeling refreshed in the Lord after spending quite a bit of time seeking the Lord this week.  Today I took advantage of living a city that is blessed with great weather most of the year.  I walked around campus and was just noticing all of the little things that usually disappear with the winter.
  1. There were little buggs happily scampering around (I know it's wierd but I enjoy seeing bugs do their God given tasks.. Unless it is a roach.. I draw the line at that).
  2. There were little purple flowers creeping up everywhere!!!
  3. Some of the flowering trees have buds.  I am just so excited to see spring begin to bloom
  4. There was the most refreshing breeze.
  5. The air smelled nice and a little bit sweet (probably because of the beautiful landscaping on Campus)
Well that was all I noticed as I walked along, but I did remind me to just enjoy the little things, and to Praise the Lord for those items that we take for granted.  So Thank You Lord for such a beautiful day to walk around Charlotte, NC and enjoy your creation!  You bless me in ways that I don't deserve, and give me more than I have ever needed!

Prayer Journeling

As I am getting older, I am starting to realize that my memory is just not working the way that it use to.  *SIGH*   I have tried a lot of different ways of remembering my friends and family throughout the day, printing emails, saving text messages, using the "notes" app on my phone, Post It notes... but the most successful way I have found to keep record of the items in a simple prayer journal.
In college I use to use these little Moleskine journals to draw a little doodle, or write down a thought.  I have tons of them all over my house but you really can't beat the convenience.  http://www.moleskines.com/  is the link so you can see what is available, but they can be found at any bookstore. My favorites being the Cahier Pocket Ruled Journal (in the color blue of course).  They only measure 5.5 x 3.5 so can easily be tucked into any purse or pocket.  I love the fact that at any time someone tells me something they are working on, dealing with, concerned about, or even praising the Lord about, I can pull the journal out of my purse and jot it down.  This way I do not forget what they just told me, or anythimg Lord has laid on my heart.  As you can see from this picture, you can buy them very tiny.  But they also sell much larger ones if you would rather have a bigger journal.  This is the size that works best for me.  :)

Prayer Journeling is also a great tool for going back and recalling the prayers that the Lord has answered, and to review the items I may need to continue to petition the Lord about.   What a surprise to open up an old purse I had put away and find an old journal.  Amazimg to recall what the Lord has done, and what items I may still be in faith for the Lord to answer.
As I reveiwed my most recent prayer journal I read over and over.. Pray for ________, to sell house, Pray for ________ as they have a home inspection, Pray for _____'s new baby, Pray for ______ to feel better.  I am so excited that so many of these prayers were answered!  The Lord has been so kind to me and all of my loved ones this past year.  Sometimes when you go through a difficult period it is hard to remember all of the kindnesses the Lord has shown you because the trial you are currently facing is taking up so much of your gaze.
Praise the Lord for simple reminders of His Mercy that can turn your focus off of the difficult, and remind us of the kindnesses and graces that the Lord bestowes upon us daily.  I am blessed!

*2010* Reflections

2010 was a year with many mixed emotions for me. 2010 brought with it a lot of laughter, some tears, a ton of smiles, happy memories, a lot of change, and great times with amazing friends and the best family in the world.

The Highlights:

Winter- The winter months and early spring were spent helping Shaynah plan her wedding. Shay, Kendra and I spent many hours cutting paper, using hot glue, making plans, and laughing hysterically. One of my favorite memories was cutting out felt mustaches. I think my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard that night. I am pretty sure that Shaynah and Kendra's favorite memory will be me crying hysterically the whole time Shaynah tried on wedding dresses. This time was so special and I am so grateful for all of the amazing memories!
I was also so very honored to be involved in my cousin Lauren and Judy's wedding's by designing their wedding invitations. It was such a wonderful time talking every week, making plans, and growing closer together in our friendships. I was so happy to have been able to spend this time with them!

Spring- The Spring brought with it Celebration and fun. Shaynah and Michael's wedding kicked off the spring with a bang. We danced the night away and sent them off with a lot of noise and laughter! In May, Nate and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I cannot believe we have been married this long. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful and caring husband.
May also brought Family vacation in Hilton Head! We had a great time, wonderful weather, and all thoroughly enjoyed watching Zach play in the fountains and "swim" in the pool. Zach got to play with his first shark. My dad took us all "deep sea" fishing. I have not done that since Highschool. We had a blast, and really only caught sharks. Of course we let them all go, but it was a great time.
My cousin's Lauren, Judy, and my Aunt Terry came down to visit us! It had been a while since we had had someone for a long weekend! I was so excited to get to spend some uninterrupted time with them. We took them out for dinner at Rock Bottom downtown so they could see the city at night. We spent the rest of the trip talking about weddings, shopping, and just enjoying each other's company! It was one of my favorite weekends of the year!

Summer- The summer was very low key for us this year. I was thankful for the quiet and calm. After such an eventful first half of the year it was time to kick back and get some stuff done around the house. The summer brought with it changes and many opportunities for us to Trust the Lord. I got a new job! I am still working at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, but I have transitioned into a new department. I now work for Facilities Management in a small department called "Design Services". We have 13 people in our department and they are all a lot of fun. We do a lot of the renovations, and furniture refurbishments on campus. I am happy to be in a creative department and I feel that I am able to use my strengths in my new position.
Shaynah celebrated her twenty-sexy birthday this year and we had a fun afternoon on Mt. Isle Lake with her family, and Kendra. We went tubing, and relaxed on floats in the water until our toes were wrinkled. We then came back to the Kleber house for an amazing dinner and conversation around the fire place.
My cousin Lauren got married to her long time love PJ in July. That was such a celebration, and I was so happy to see the two of them tie the knot! They had a beautiful wedding and the reception was in a vineyard! It was wonderful to see friends and family that I had missed so much! July also brought Zach's first birthday! I cannot believe that that little cuddle bug is a year old already! Shaynah and Kendra and I planned a surprise "Bachelorette" afternoon for Bethany in Raleigh. I was shocked that we actually were able to pull off the surprise. Thanks to Steve and Bethany's roomates, we were able to surprise her in her living room. Such a fun afternoon! Also rounding out the summer was Buffy and Steeevh's wedding! They had a gorgeous outdoor wedding followed by a beautiful reception inside of a tent that looked like a ball room. We danced the night away, Michael Jerrell taught us some amazing dance moves and we enjoyed seeing old friends and remembering all of the times we spent together.

Fall- Again the fall was time spent laughing and enjoying friends. It was also possibly the busiest time of the year for us. We took our annual girls trip to Folly Beach, SC. We stayed in the house that we normally stayed in, however we discovered almost immediately that there were some uninvited guests.. Michelle went in for a drink of water after a long drive and discovered the first "AnIndian" in the cupboard as they became known to us. We spend a considerable time, including some late night trips to the drug store, attempting to evict these little "friends". This lead to a lot of laughs, some tears, some extremely embarrassing videos, some shots to help us sleep, and quite a bit of screaming. Even though these little "friends" were quite disconcerting to have running around, we did have some good laughs... We will just leave it at that!
We also took a trip up to Montreate to watch Allie B. play volleyball. We went with Greg, Hil and little Z. We had a great time on the trip, and they Won their games! We met Steve and Kim B. up there and all went out to "Our Father's" for some good pizza. We took a walk around the town of Black Mountain and then headed back to Charlotte. I wish we had been able to see more of Allie's games but we are certainly happy to have her moving back to Charlotte this summer.
The fall also brought the much anticipated wedding of my cousin Judy to her long time Love Chris. These two met while in NYC. They both served as NYPD and are now protecting our Nation's Capital as Capital Police. They had a beautiful wedding at Sunset on the water. It was so wonderful to see the two of them get married! It was such a happy day. We enjoyed a long car ride, in my parents Honda Pilot. Mom and dad sat in the front, Nate and Greg cuddled in the middle, and Hilary and I sat cozy in the back for two 8 hour drives. Let's just say that since we are all the most mature people you could ever imagine, my parents had to practice their patience as we sang the same song over and over again for about 4 hours on the way up.. and then again on the way home. We laughed until we cried and our bellies hurt.
We also took our Annual Apple Picking trip to Skytop Orchard with Greg, Hil, and Zach. This year there were not many apples as we had waited a little too long to go, but Zach thoroughly enjoyed eating as many apples as he could fit into that tank of his. We ate a picnic lunch on the hill overlook the orchard and Zach entertained us with his apple eating skills.

Winter- This winter has been quite the adventure for us. I know it has just begun, but we have already had quite a few snowfalls, which for North Carolina is quite crazy. I try to keep our early winter calendar as open as possible so as to enjoy the season and not get overly busy. Nate and I made a decision to keep things light this year and to not over exert ourselves. We worked on some projects at our home, got rid of some clutter and were able to really enjoy the season.
Greg and Hilary sold their first home, and were able to purchase a wonderful home on the same street as our friends Christopher and Eileen. They also live down the street now from our good friends Tiff and Andy Porter. We are really looking forward to developing those friendships and enjoying a lot of fun and laughter together in the years to come!
Shaynah and Kendra and I started "Bestie Christmas" at Amalies. We met on Christmas Eve, had brunch, and exchanged gifts. I really hope that this will be a tradition!!! We then went to the church where Hilary met us and we set up for the Christmas Eve service together. It was so much fun to continue the morning together! We had Christmas Day with the Honeas. We had a wonderful dinner of Ham, stuffed shells and lots of yummy sides! The kids had a blast opening their presents and then Nathan, Steve, and Tom sang us some Christmas Carols. It snowed that night! The first Snow in Charlotte on Christmas for many many years!
We celebrated Christmas with my parents on Monday. We had brunch which was fun. We had Mexican quiche, breakfast pizza, cinnamon rolls, and fruit salad. We opened up lots of fun presents and Nate finally got his Panther's Snuggie (thanks Greg & Hil). Zach had a great time cleaning up all of the trash we were making.
We got a call that night that my mom's dad "PopPop" was not doing well. The next morning he went to be with his Savior. The next days were filled with plans and preparations to go be with family. We were able to stay with my cousin Judy and her husband Chris. We made memory boards, talked about memories and really celebrated PopPop's life. He was one of those people that you could not help but love. He always had a good time, he always made you laugh, and more than anything, he always made sure we knew how much he loved us. PopPop loved his family! He had 5 kids and has 15 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren. He lived a full and wonderful life and we will all miss him terribly!

What I have learned this year: (My top 10)

1. Always tell the people you love, how much you love them. You never know when you will not have that opportunity to say how you feel.

2. Friendships are wonderful blessings from the Lord, taking time to develop them and grow them brings more joy than can be understood.

3. Trusting the Lord is a tough job, but He always has our best in mind!

4. Take time to enjoy the little things. Sometimes life gets busy, and stresses of day to day life, and priorities can become too much of the focus. There are so many wonderful things that occur every day, we just have to open our eyes and appreciate them. The Lord made us a wonderful and beautiful world to live in. Enjoy the sunrise, the snow fall, and even the rain!

5. Do not stop Praying! There is one friend in particular, I prayed for this person every day since highschool. I even lost touch with this individual and thought that I would never know if the prayers I was petitioning for, crying for, even begging for would ever be answered. This pas fall, I was able to reconnect with this friend and found out that many of my prayers for him had been answered. They were even better than I had prayed for! The Lord is so Good, so Kind, so Faithful! Do not stop Praying!

6. We are never done changing. The Lord has brought many people into my life this year that have really challenged me in my faith and helped me to grow closer to the Lord, and make some progress putting some patterns of sin in my life to death. Hilary, Kendra, Shaynah, Jeanie, Tiff, Mom... I cannot thank the Lord for you enough! Thanks for saying the words that are hard to hear, and thank you for your encouragement as I have made changes!

7. Embrace the new- It is easy to get use to something that is old. It is comfortable, and easy. Make a new friend, try a new hobby, invest in someone else's interests. It could be more rewarding than you think.

8. Do something nice for someone else. Watching someone else enjoy something is so much better than just doing something for yourself. Focus on others, it makes life more fun!

9. Laugh hard, cry, and just let go... One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is to laugh. I don't care if others laugh at me, as long as we are laughing and enjoying ourselves. Make a joke, fall on your face, just do something silly, and have a good time!

10. The most important thing I learned this year is that I can do NOTHING without the Lord's assistance. Don't be afraid to be broken, don't be ashamed that you are not strong enough! He wants us to cry out to Him for help. This is why He sent His son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we would not have to carry the burden on our own. Rely on the Lord, allow him to drill down into your heart and welcome the changes that He has in store for you. Changing is never easy and there is something terrifying about just letting go and allowing the Lord to take a sledge hammer to your heart. BUT, there is something even scarier about being alone. Take advantage of the gift of Grace, Peace, Hope, and Love that our Savior gifted us!

2010 was a year of great joy, a lot of laughs, fun memories, relationships developed, friendships strengthened, soul searching, heart changing, deep contemplation, and tears shed. The Lord showed Himself to me in ways I had not experienced before and it was one of the hardest, but sweetest years of my life. I am praying that 2011 is equally as satisfying and that the Lord will bless me with more opportunities to tell my friends and family how much they mean to me, that my friendships and marriage will grow in strength, and that I will learn to trust and rely on the Lord in ways I have never been able to before.
I am praying for so many things this year, most of all I pray that you will all be blessed, that you will know the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on your behalf, and that you will all experience much Joy and Love! Happy 2011 to you all!

The Power of Prayer

Prayer seems to be that safe haven for me to turn to when I just don't know what else to do. It is a safe place that I can lay myself out before the Lord and beg for mercy, cry out for assistance, lift up a friend, and ask for grace for a loved one, worship the Lord for His goodness, kindness, and blessing in my life. Prayer can bring believers together, it can offer solace, and it can refresh the spirit.
Recently, I have been growing a little discouraged as I have been petitioning the Lord on behalf of some individuals that I dearly love. Not discouraged in the Lords Awesome Power to answer my prayers, and the prayers of the others who love and are lifting these individuals up as well, but discouraged in my words, in my ability to translate what is in my heart to tell the Lord what I am attempting to translate. The honest truth is that some emotions of the heart are unable to be put into words.
But, the great truth about prayer is that our God is so Awesome that even though our words may not be adequate, He knows exactly what it is that we are asking for. Recently, I have asked a few individuals to lift up a few particular issues up before the Lord on my behalf. Some for others, and one item in particular for me. I went to bed and woke up the next morning freshly aware of the Lords Power and Peace in my life. I was overwhelmed by a peace that I could not explain and my other prayers for one person in particular were also answered.
Now... I know that not all prayer is meant to be answered immediately as these prayers were, but this fresh pouring out of grace and mercy reminded me that even though I may offer up petitions before the Lord on a daily basis, asking for the same thing, He is all knowing and will answer the request in His perfect timing.
We cannot pretend to know what the Lord is up to, or why He chooses to answer certain prayers quickly, and asks us to wait for answer for other items, BUT I do know that we serve and Awesome, Mighty, and All Knowing Father, who always has our best in mind. Don't give up faith that your prayers will be answered, don't feel that your words are inadequate... that is the miracle of salvation that the Lord takes us just as we are. He saved us despite of our foolish and feeble minds. He has the power to save, to heal, to give to us, and to take away from us, and He will always have our best in mind as He reveals His plan to us. I am refreshed by the spirit to continue to petition the Lord daily despite my allowing myself to foolishly become discouraged by my attempts. Please let me know how I can be praying for you!

Update

Wow... Ok so I fell off the Blogging bandwagon that I apparently have not really fully gotten on yet. I know that a lot of things have been going on since the last time I posted. Zach my nephew is getting so big! He continues to amaze me as he reminds me so much of his father (my little brother). I am sure there are so many things that Hilary sees of herself in him as well. I have enjoyed being Aunt DeeDee to that little guy.
On Nate's side of the family, the kids are all getting so big! Josh and Julia just had their birthday a few weeks ago and I am just amazed at how fast time has flown by. My sister-in-law Lizzy is preggers again so we look forward to and anticipate the arrival of her and Steve's new little one here in the upcoming months. Seth and Carolyn are enjoying their three little ones and they are all getting so big so fast!
Nathan and I have kept ourselves busy with work, and other fun activities. My dear friend Shaynah was married on April 2nd. She is now Shay "J" and her husband Michael is FINALLY Mr. Michael Jerrell. lol! It was such an amazingly fun night. To see pics from their wedding visit http://elisabethshea.smugmug.com/ Click on Shaynah and Michael If you like what you see make sure you buy some prints!!!! Liz and David did such an excellent job! I am also excited to be assisting two of my cousins who are getting married this summer with their wedding invitations. It is going to be a fun summer!!!
More to come...

It's Zach's Birthday, mark your calendar!

Taste and See that the LORD IS GOOD! PSALM 34
I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the lord heard him and saved him out of his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! oh, fear the lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Come, oh children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may "see good?" Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. the Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The Lord redeems the life f his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

I know that this may seem li
ke an odd passage to place on the post I am creating to put up pics of a brand new baby boy, but the Truth's behind this passage are what have gotten us through the last year. Zachary Thomas Ross was born this morning at approximately 9:45 am. Hilary begun her labor last night around 10:00. (really before but that was the first I heard of it) When Zachary arrived he was 19 3/4 inches long and weighed 6 pounds and 13 oz. He has strong lungs, adorable features, a respectable amount of hair, and the only feature we could really peg him with was.... "ROSS FEET".

The Lord has been been exceedingly good to our families over this past year. It was almost one year to the day when Hilary and Gregory lost their second child. Zachary is an answer to prayer, a gift from the Lord, and a promise that the Lord is watching over and caring for those who cry out to him. Zachary was very hospitable to us busting into his quiet room just moments after he had arrived. Greg was smiling from ear to ear and Hilary looked beautiful. I am not just saying that because I have to. Seeing how she had been in labor since we left the softball game last night, and that had been since last evening, I would say that she looked absolutely beautiful. We thank God for a safe and healthy little boy we affectionately call "Zach". Greg and Hilary just can't wait to get home and start their new life with the little guy. Thank you to all of you who prayed for them and for the rest of their family as they pressed on believing and trusting in the Lord the entire way. There was never a word of distrust, anger, or questioning of the Lords will from either of them. "Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!"

Sorry.. I can't resist

Ok ok... so today we were talking back and forth in some e-mail about Hilary's Dr. Apt and that the Dr. had told her how long he thought it would be before Mr. Zach Man actually arrives. All for fun we had put out some suggestions on how "WE" think Hilary can encourage Zach to come along in our prefered time frame... (which of course is any time now would be just fine)
One of the suggestions was for Hilary to present Zach with some extra special "La Lo's" as Gregory use to call it or modern translation... FOOD. To one of the e-mails... this was Greg's response.. "I like the idea of chocolate chip cookies. I think the fresh smell of them coming out of the oven will make him want to come out of his oven. If he doesn't... I'll eat them all... his loss."
I love my family! We would probably not get an "A" in logic class.. but we would have fun talking about it!

Catching Up

So, in my usual fashion... it has been a while since I have updated my blog. I guess I could be more proactive in letting my loved ones in on what has been going on in the Honea home. Things have really been going well. Nathan and I feel truly blessed to have everything that we need and more to be happy and healthy. At this point we do not have any big vacation plans for the summer. The highlight for this Summer must be our much anticipated arrival of Greg and Hilary's little angel Zachary Thomas.
Over the past few years I have been blessed with 2 Nieces and 2 Nephews. Carolyn and Seth just welcomed Eva Claire to the world two months ago and she is just perfect! It is amazing every time I get to see a new baby, but I honestly just can't wait to meet this little guy! I am overwhelmed with thankfulness to the Lord for a safe pregnancy for Hilary. For anyone who does not know, this has been a rather trying year for Greg and Hilary as they have walked through many trials before they were blessed by this child.
It has been an inspiration to say the least to watch the two of them as they have walked through this process leaning on the Lord and TRUSTING that His will is perfect. Although my heart has broken for them more than once, and honestly I am moved to tears each time I think about it, I cannot help but be OVERWHELMED by the Mercy and Grace of the Lord to know exactly the right time and little one to give them to them. Knowing that this little guy is a gift from the Lord and a promise that He does hear our prayers, I cannot wait for the day that they can hold him in their arms and rejoice that he is safe and sound and is here for them to see, to smell, to touch, to kiss, and to cuddle.
Praise the LORD! I hope that we will not soon forget the Miracle of Conception, Birth, and also praise God for his work of Creation. My prayers are with Greg and Hilary as they are counting down the next 24 days (hopefully) to the little man's arrival. We are all filled with great anticipation and excitement and just can't wait to steal a few moments with him in our arms once he has arrived.

Drumroll please... and its going to be a.....

Congrats to Greg and Hilary... can't wait to see his cute little face in July!

Update

I guess it has been quite a while since we have added any updated information onto our blog. Life has certainly not been boring for us these last few months. I have had my prayers answered to move to the corporate side of Wachovia, only to reconsider if that is where the Lord would call me to be... Needless to say, I now work at UNCC in the Mail Center. It is wonderful and Nathan and I truly feel blessed by the Lord and felt His hand directing our steps.
This has been an amazing period of blessing and provision from the Lord, but it has not been without "growing pains". I have been paying for a few things in specific lately that the Lord would show me and help me to grow in.

1. Self Sufficiency
2. Pride
3. Selfishness... to name a few...

I had been waiting on the Lord to reveal to me how I could begin to move past some of these repeat offenses... A few weeks ago, I went out to get in my car to go to work and just felt that something was out of place... well, upon further inspection, (and by "further inspection", I mean when I opened my door because my windows were frosted over), I realized that someone had been in my car the night before. I was immediately confused, hurt, upset, mad, and felt completely violated. I did not have time to process the incident since I had to be at work and after throwing everything back in whatever place I could find to put it, I was off to work.
The lesson for me at that moment should have been to immediately PRAISE THE LORD that my car was still at my house to begin with, and that NOTHING was even taken from my car (not even my Aldi quarter) and pretty much NO DAMAGE. But of course as you can probably guess from my list of favorite offenses, I was so self absorbed with feelings of fear, and anger that I did not even get around to thanking the Lord until after dinner that night. Realizing the error of my ways, I have begun an overnight campaign against the horrible sinner within and have uncovered a HUGE PILE of fear, frustration, anger, self sufficiency, etc etc etc.
Needless to say, the Lord answered my prayer to show me how to work on these issues in a big way and He has been faithful to continuously point these areas out to me over the past month. I have certainly had some wonderful friends and family members praying for me and supporting me along the way as I am waging my war against the little voice inside of me screaming at me to do it on my own and that I do not need help. I have been so blessed by the wonderful teaching we have received at Church as well over the past few months/weeks. They have certainly spoke to my heart especially the past few messages on Holiness.
It is encouraging to be reminded as I am beginning to feel the weight of the war ahead of me that the battle is already won. I am no more justified before the Lord than THAT DAY when I accepted the Lord into my heart and the blood that Jesus shed on the cross for me was what washed me and made me perfect and forgiven before the Lord my Savior. It is also wonderful to be reminded that the battle is not about myself but about the GLORY OF GOD!
"Lord I pray that you will use my weakness and inability to contribute anything good to your cause to show those whom I may encounter, Your Love, Your Forgiveness, Your Strength, Your Grace, Your Peace, and Your Perfect Plan for Mankind. May I always be motivated by Your Glory and accept your grace to change when I am weak and broken. Thank you for all of my blessings, for my life, and my salvation. Amen."

Lord Move, or Move Me!

I was driving down the road the other day and I heard a song that I have not heard in a while. The song is by FFH and it is called Lord Move or Move Me. I was reflecting on how this song is very true in my life right now as Nate and I have been seeking the Lord on a few issues and trying to make decisions for the future.
I have in the last few weeks felt that I have been standing in the middle of a room with 10 doors and they are all closed and every time I think one will be unlocked and I approach the door, it may open a little bit.. and then slams hard right in my face. I have found myself asking the Lord, please close the doors that should not be open to me, but please open the door that is right for me so that I may walk through it.
In the midst of this time of seeking the Lord and waiting for a door to open I have become a little restless in my wait. An amazing thing happened to me yesterday though. I think for the first time in my life I saw my complaining, anxiousness, and lack of trust for exactly what it is. I found myself so desperate in a situation yesterday I told the Lord that I just could not do it by myself anymore.. As soon as I heard myself think that.. I realized the stupidity of what I had said. It is like getting a free ride and then asking for your money back.
After realizing just how foolish I truly am, I immediately asked for forgiveness and freshly sought after the Lord for renewed strength, and patience. I also asked for an answer to my prayers so that I would know which direction to focus on. The crazy thing is, within 10 minutes I received an e-mail which gave me some insight into how the Lord would be moving on my behalf. I felt refreshed in the Lords grace and also a renewed strength since I realized that I was not the one fighting the battle. I was rejoicing in telling Nathan what had happened today and how I had realized truly how foolish I am. While I was doing that I checked my personal e-mail at home and realized that at the same time that I had received the e-mail at work.. I had also received an e-mail at home from someone else. Just another reminder that I may not know what direction the Lord will provide for me to move in, but that HE is in control and that HE is working.
In the words of FFH

“I’ve looked everywhere to find a simple peace of mind.
So I gotta leave myself behind take up this cross of mine
give away everything I hold on to.
Lord I know the only way through this
Lord I know I need you to help me do this
Lord move in the way that I’ve never seen before
‘cause there’s a mountain in the way and a lock on the door
I’m drifting away waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord Move… or Move me!”
